Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find answers to the questions we get asked the most.

New Born Photography

Of course. I will not take any photographs that you do not feel comfortable with. That goes for maternity, newborn sessions. Also, If you aren’t comfortable with me sharing images on social media or my blog, I certainly would not do so.

All newborns have a certain “look” to them. Usually within a week or two, that newborn-like quality starts to disappear. The point of newborn photos is to capture that newborn look, so I always recommend photographing as early as possible.

Absolutely. I understand that this is a hectic time for you, so I want to make your session as easy and streamlined as possible. I do prefer to photograph in a room that’s extremely well lit with natural light, so just make sure that’s available. And, of course, you can always come to my home studio.

Ultimately, what you wear depends on what you’re comfortable in. That said, I recommend clothing showcases your baby bump. Empire dresses belted under the bust and stretchy fabrics are two of my favorites. I’d avoid anything extremely loose.

I think some of the best maternity photos are taken between the seven and eight month mark. This is when you’re really showing, but isn’t so close to your due that you’re really uncomfortable.

Yes we supply all props, however if you have something special please feel free to bring it along.

You don’t need to bring anything, however if you have something special you’d like to be photographed, please feel free to bring it along.

All of our sessions include family photos. I always encourage them but it is your choice whether to capture them as well.  We can accommodate up to 6 people in total in our studio, including your immediate family, for the duration of your session.

Yes I have all my vaccinations up to date. A newborn is at the stage where they are too young to have vaccinations, so it is really important to ensure your newborn photographer has their vaccinations up to date.

For babies under 4 months old, I’d still recommend booking a newborn session as it allows that extra time to capture sleepy poses if they fall asleep as well as time for feeding and comforting.

No, not at all for any images/products that you purchase.  We do add a watermark if we post them online (only with your permission).

We supply them as a digital download ( online gallery ). There are many benefits of a digital download over a USB drive, such as instant download and not having to wait for a USB drive in the mail, and therefore increased security.  The exact same contents of a USB drive are simply available as a download instead, approximately 250 MB in size. Also you can buy Prints and canvases.

Yes, I can go to your home as long as we get enough space to set up my studio and props.

The ideal time is at least a few weeks before giving birth, to ensure we keep time reserved for you near your due date. After your newborn arrives, we can schedule the actual time of the shoot. If you book in advance, we guarantee that we’ll have time available for you, no matter if your baby arrives early or late.

I use a Nikon d800 and Fujifilm xt3 camera with a 24-70mm F2.8L II lens and 23mm f2 lens

Wedding Photography

You can expect at least 55 images every hour covered. It all depends on how much is happening during the time of the wedding. Day wedding is around 10 hours so you can expect around 650 to 950 images

A perfect time to book is 6 months in advance. On the busiest popular months you might have to book 1 year in advance, always depends of my calendar.

YES of course. Although technically speaking these are not ‘Wedding Photojournalism’ I understand some are wanted & therefore happy to allocate time during the day.

Absolutely YES. I look for these everywhere throughout the day. You will have spent a lot of time and effort choosing these and I am keen to record them for you.

No. The price list and packages outlines exactly what is included.

1 week after your wedding I like to send you some sneak peeks, perfect for sharing on Instagram etc. Then I ask that you allow me approximately 4 to 6 weeks. The reason why it takes this long is that I do not like to rush the process. I personally edit each and every photo. The wait is well worth it, and I keep in touch with you to let you know how it is all going.

No, let me explain … it’s a bit like trying to be a ‘Dentist’ AND a ‘Doctor’ both at the same time. You can’t honestly be a true expert at both. It is the same with Photography and Video. They are both specialized fields and so I stick to what I do best. However I can certainly recommend some awesome Videographers that we have worked with before, just ask.

Commercial Photography

The minimum that you can get in 1 hour is around 35 photos.

Images delivered by online gallery.
